Accessibility

This website was built for people who find most websites too small, too fast, and too clever. If any part of it doesn't work for you, tell us and we'll fix it.

What we've done

Large text by default. Body text starts at 20 pixels — noticeably larger than most sites — and lines are kept short enough to read comfortably.
Strong contrast. Text and background colors are chosen to meet or exceed the WCAG 2.2 AA contrast standard.
Big buttons. Every button and link target is at least 60 pixels tall, so they're easy to hit with a finger or an unsteady hand.
Keyboard friendly. Everything can be reached with the Tab key, and the item you're on is clearly outlined.
Works with screen readers. Proper headings, labelled form fields, descriptive links, and a “skip to main content” link.
Respects your settings. If your device is set to reduce motion, animations are turned off. If you zoom to 200%, the layout still works.
Works without JavaScript. Every page's content is readable even if scripts are blocked.

Making it easier to read

You can make any website's text bigger. On a computer, hold Ctrl (or ⌘ on a Mac) and press the + key. On a phone or tablet, look in Settings for “Display & Text Size” or “Font size.” If you'd like a hand setting this up on your own devices, that's exactly the kind of thing we do on a house call — just ask.

Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. We review the site when we make changes, but we're a small business and we won't pretend it's perfect.
